《潜鸟》是加拿大女作家玛格丽特劳伦斯的代表作之一,小说从"我"——一个白人女孩的视角入手描写了梅蒂族女孩皮格特的悲剧人生。作者将借用弗兰茨·奥玛尔·法侬在他的论著《黑皮肤白面具》中的观点来分析梅蒂族女孩皮格特是如何在心理上确立了一种与白种人之间殖民与被殖民的关系,使她从心理上认同并从属于一种普适化了的白人的标准,扭曲了她的心灵和意识,最终导致了她的悲惨结局

Abstract: The Loons is one of the masterpieces of Canadian female writer Margret Laurence.In this story Margret describes the tragic life of the Metis girl,Piquette from "I" —a white girl's perspective.This essay uses Frantz Omar Fanon' s theory of Black Skin,White Masks,to analyze how Piquette establishes a kind of colonial relation with the white in her mind,so that she is subject to the universal standard of white people and identify with it which twisted her mind and consciousness,and ultimately led to her tragic end.
